Ian Ragan is a neuropharmacologist and an independent consultant in the biomedical sector, focusing on project management. He spent nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently with Eli Lilly as Executive Director, Neuroscience Research, Europe, and Executive Director, European Scientific Affairs. As such he was Chair of the R&D Committee of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, and a founding member of the Research Directors’ Group of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) where he was deeply involved in the creation of the Innovative Medicines Initiative. He was for several years Executive Director of the European Brain Council campaigning for increased investment into research on brain disorders. He has been a trustee of Autistica and has undertaken project work for the National Autistic Society on accreditation of service provision in ASD.
