National Mental Capacity Forum (NMCF)

The National Mental Capacity Forum (NMCF) is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Health and Social Care.

The purpose of the NMCF is to advocate at a national level for the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and to identify and support local actions to improve awareness, understanding and implementation of the MCA to realise improved outcomes and benefits for individuals who may (or may in the future) lack mental capacity.

Bring People Home From Psychiatric Hospital is a network of

  • People with Learning Difficulties
  • Autistic people
  • And the groups and campaigns that they run, including speaking-up groups.

working together to move us from mental health or psychiatric hospital to community care.

European Council of Autistic People

The NAT is an associate member of the European Council of Autistic People, an umbrella organisation for autistic-led national and regional organisations in Europe.

BASW Homes not Hospitals

BASW England’s Homes Not Hospitals campaign addresses the urgent issue of persistently high numbers of people with learning disabilities and autistic people in inappropriate inpatient units. BASW England’s Homes not Hospitals campaign brings together people and families with lived experience and a range of partners and stakeholders from across the sector.
